I applied for my I-140/485 together in the last week of June. I havent got the receipt numbers yet. My wife is on H1 and since she is not the primary application on my 485 forms, is it okay if she changes her job. Will her H1 transfer affect both of our applications.

You are safe. Once you have reached I-485 stage, it is all about you and not your employer. You mentioned that you already changed to a new employer. Technically, your old employer should've revoked your old I-140 after your move. Since, you moved to a new employer you are indicating that your new employer also has a new job that matches your initial Labor application. You have nothing to worry about your old employer closing down.

You can certainly maintain your H-1B status while the EB-5 immigrant visa petition is pending, though you would not be authorized to work for the EB-5 enterprise until an EAD filed in conjunction with your I-485 is approved.

Ok, guys so I am going thru my annual ritual of H1/H4 renewal. I have never tracked the H1 processing on the USCIS site in the past. This time I decided to track it. I notice that my wife's H4 has been approved (been over a week) and mailed but there has been no activity on my H1 ! Does that make any sense? Isn't H4 a derivative visa that is approved only if H1 is approved?
Anybody seen such odd stuff?

H1, H4 (spouse) and H4 (kid) living happily.
File 485 and gets EAD/AP.
H1 doesn't use EAD.
H4 uses EAD and hence looses H4 status.
I-485 is denied.
Now, my understanding is that spouse has to go out of country and come back again on H4.
What about the kid?
When does the kid loose his/her H4 status? (When both mother and father use EAD)?
As long as primary stays in H status any derivative who does not change his H4 status will stay in H4 status. the only way a H4 can loose H4 status if he/she uses EAD. In your case if i have understood it correctly ur Kid will never use EAD and if you never used EAD ur H1 status is active thus ur kids H4 is active .. also i think ur wife can change her status back to H4 but would require her to file some paperwork .. she might need to geta visa stamp when she tries to re-enter into us..

Interesting is they say "you may have trouble coming in" but for valid h1 holders it should not be a problem (wasn't for me..i traveled). They didn't say anything about "it will be considered abondonment of AOS or have negative impact on it"

I have recently applied for my wife's EAD to Phoneix Lock box and got the Receipt from NSC with the LIN number. RD: 02/25/11 and ND:02/28/11. Check also got cashed. I tried to access that receipt number in USCIS case status website online to get the status yesterday 03/09/11; it says the case number is not found. I am sure I typed the correct receipt number. Any idea what could be wrong? Has anyone experienced this before? Should I contact the customer service? Please help me.

I've taken a lot of bird pictures that have to be cropped even more than this. While I'm not happy with the detail it is still quite possible to see what bird it is :) and maybe the best I can do with my current lenses. Until I get a better opportunity and get closer to the bird I'll accept the picture, at least for my own archive. I think your frog picture is acceptable at that size, and could perhaps also be improved a bit more with some creative noise reduction and sharpening to give the impression of being a bit better than it is. I agree digital is amazing, there's indeed a lot of info that can be extracted from the megapixels.
