There have been several threads on this. I know IV was looking into it. Any update on this ????
I can't see a better time to help the US economy if we can buy houses for faster GC.
IV should make this top priority and discuss with the President staff directly.

GC people is closer to citizenship and closer to get this permission.
Visa is not permanent.
So what is it now? Since GC people are closer to getting citizenship, they deserve to bring their parents? Or, the parents of GC holders are more deserving to come to the US?
You said those of us with bad parents don't need to comment. What happens to bad parents of citizens and very good parents of H1Bs? Where do they stand?
Why do you think GC is permanent and a visa is not? There are people on this forum who have been on H1B 'visa' for more than 10 years and counting. We should at least let them bring their parents, don't you think? Or should they instead go back to India?
Next time, I want you to think seriously about the issues I brought up and then post a reply. LOL. I feel like I'm talking to a kid.

This looks pretty authentic. It wouldn't make any sense for a lawyer to fake this unless someone hacked their website. There is a good possibility that the date is May 08, 2006 for EB2 I / C

Yes. AC21 has nothing to do with AP directly.
But it enables job easy change into a similar job if you have EAD. And that provision is predominantly used by people going thru the AOS process.
When they use AC21 to change jobs, they are strictly in AOS and not in another visa status.
My point was that when AC21 was made, they did not look at all the down stream impacts.
anyways... lets not argue about AC21<->AP.
Since DOS routinely updates their forms, why can't the the form used for AP be updated to change its wording?
Can this be approached as an administrative fix?
You can use H1-B transfer under AC-21 so you don't loose Non Immigrant visa just because you used AC-21 provisions.

While I Wrote The Check For Ead Renewal
I Wrote It To Department Of Homeland Security And Not
Us Deparment Of Homeland Security
Is It A Big Problem
Interesting. This problem is also there. I e-filed for my self and my wife, so the payment went through credit card.
For son, I filed paper based EAD and check was in favor of USCIS, so I am very much confused about the alternatives you have mentioned - both don't include USCIS.
--- Update
I went through detail below. You are OK.
On USCIS site: Fees should be made payable to Department of Homeland Security or U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. refer to first dotted instruction of http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.eb1d4c2a3e5b9ac89243c6a7543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=db029c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCR D&vgnextchannel=db029c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1 RCRD
It does not talk about putting US in front of Department of Homeland Security.

Look guys, sorry for the outburst, and sorry Franklin. I thank you for all the efforts you have put in.
But see, just because you did something good, does not mean you should look down upon others!! Doesn't that make sense?
For example, how would others feel if, say, a person holding a MIT or IIT degree says "These other low end degree holders do not deserve GC before we get it first"? [ Now do not get started on quality of IIT/MIT degree, but it's perceived to be better by most people ], or people with a US degree says "These other indian degree holders should not get GC before we do".
Not everybody could make it to DC, but I'm sure a lot of them supported the cause directly (signing the petition, calling senators, supporting financially etc.) or indirectly (digging stories, telling the collegues and encouraging them, spreading the word etc.). Nobody should HAVE TO give an excuse for not being at DC, and HAVE TO be looked down upon if they didn't go.
What my point is, do not divide the community with "DC Goers" and "The Others".
As for me, no I didn't go to DC, and I don't see any reason to tell everyone WHY [ but I sure hope nobody, NOBODY had the reason I have ].
Said enough!! Please PM me if you want to discuss further. Let's not take the thread off the topic.

I requested IV to help us on this just like how IV did for the EAD cause. We all appreciate how much IV has done for us and helped in getting EAD renewed on time for so many people, may be this is something that they can take up. Here is Pappu's response for my request..

This bill has nothing related to EB applicants.
Also looks like Sec. 501 Earned Access to Legalization may apply only to illegals.
The more it is closer to amensty, it will not go forward.

My question is
what are the ramifications if
1. I apply for i-485 now.
2. get married and bring spouse on h4 and she remains on h4
and my I485 is approved before the PD is current so spouse is out of status for a short while before she can apply for AOS?
my case is EB2; PD is july 2006.

I guess you are speaking like Tom Peters. But in the end, it all depends on where one wants to be and what is the world view of someone. If one thinks that just because someone is a manager over others, that makes that someone better and more successful than others, and if most B- students manage A+ students (which is fuzzy maths), yes, in that case it maybe that its better to get a B- grade than A+, and there is no need to go to business school either. If the world view and the objective is not just to become a manager or make 100K instead of 120K, but actually do something worthwhile in every stage of your life, rather than just having an objective of becoming a manager, maybe its about learning a language and words, then why not. Strong vocabulary is the first stage to clear expression and clear expression is the corner stone of a successful and satisfying career, including bring a manager. I don't see anything wrong with learning more words, or loving parents or obedient children. Everyone has a different age in their life when we revolt against the environment, just to break free. Its not necessary that one must continue to revolt an entire lifetime to be creative or be better than others. Bill Gates or Steve jobs never wanted to become just managers, they wanted to re-invent the future. College dropouts, but successful. But how many Gates and Jobs do we have? I guess there is no clear definition of success and different people gauge success differently, but most people, more so in this crowd on this forum, relate success to level of education/university (US masters or Bachelors from India), and title at work place. But maybe the key is not how others gauge your success, but how you gauge yourself. Maybe you have set your eyes on squeezing most number of lemons or maybe being fastest eater of a water melon, or climbing on top of rhinoceros back, whatever it is, if you have done it and you feel satisfied, you will see yourself as successful. So whatever is the definition of success, whatever is anybody's opinion or world-view, the fact is, these kids did well with the goal they had set for themselves. And if that is how they feel satisfied with their hard work, they are successful. The fact that there were so many other contestants wanting to prove that they were better than others, and they weren't, makes it a recognizable achievement. Its that simple.
Well said....

Gulti mentality was something that guy(malibuguy) was talking about . Thats what i meant by Gulti mentality . I just started with a simple question "WHATS THE MOTIVATION FOR CONTRIBUTION(MONEY AS WELL AS TIME) FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVEN'T APPLIED FOR GC " !! Was that offensive ? I don't need answers for specific questions. I just need to know what IV is all about ? ? BTW, i have balls to ask anything to anybody if it makes sense(immigration officer is not making rules) .
Then call senator grassley and ask these questions and prove you have the BALLS!!!! Otherwise you know what it means.

How about getting somebody who already got his green card, and after getting the card created jobs or did some inventions.
In such a case, we can definitely contact some of the desi CEO's etc. I am sure that they will be sympathetic to our case ??

I was glad I made it even if I was late. The local chapter is no more nebulous entity in my mind. Good to see you all.
PS: My only gripe: laborchic turned out to far from a "chic". What a letdown ;-)
Well - now I understand why you were there :)
Helllooooo!
Jokes aside, I agree, it was a good meet.
As I said earlier, it was encouraging to see interested, motivated folks join the party. I enjoyed meeting with all, and was good to have some honest exchange about IV related questions, clarification of its goals, etc. Nice!
Glad you joined the fun, frankie. Hey, labochic! that was some speech--do you have a copy? :D
