I read this amazing thread and I am feeling terrible guilty of not going to DC for Rally. I thought contributing $100 was enough.
YES, I GOTTA GO TO RALLY AND BE A PART OF THIS EFFORT. AND I WILL GO.

how does one know NC is cleared? do you see an update?
If you were July/Aug filer, it does not matter even if it is not cleared...

What is supplimentry exam? Is it that you did some extra courses after finishing your requisite courses for Bachelors? or are you refering to clearing your backlog subjects ( subjects from previous semesters that you had not cleared?). Where did you get your degree India or US?

This is what you can do - Both in Mumbai and in Delhi, you have USCIS approved doctors who help people going through CP. In other words those who choose to go through emp based CP or family based Green Card which US embassy issues, go through Indian hospitals in Mumbai and Delhi. What is received date? What is delivered date? How come there are 6 days gap between those days? Even if you assume that the receiving guy took 6 days to lift his hand and receive, how come the received date is before the delivery date? So he received it even before it was delivered to him.

I believe YES, required checks were issue from the law firm's account, No personal.
What was your receipt date on the notice?

Oh No ! Thats too bad. I was really hoping that it was possible to use the old H1B. And can be used anytime to change the status.

I am in exact same situation. The company that is going to sponsor my H1 checked with two attorneys and both said that I will need a fresh H1 in April07 and I can start working from Oct07. Even I never got to work on my earlier H1. I guess this is because you need previous paystubs for H1 transfer. Let me know if you hear otherwise from your attorneys.

Where is the law that says they can release visa numbers only on a quarterly basis? If that is true, then
1. The Feb bulletin would not have said EB-2 India had used up its annual limit.
2. The June Bulletin would not have said EB-3 will retrogress or become unavailable starting July [which starts a new quarter].
Both make no sense. Or alternatively, there is no such law and DOS can release visa numbers without the "quarterly" constraint. It may have been a practise in the past, but clearly since 2007, they have become keen to see visa numbers not go waste and they appear to have changed the trend.
Only a tiny fraction of applications are on . It really is nowhere enough to draw a meaningful analysis of approval trends.

Looks like for July 2nd they just started and i talked to 5 other guys( who got receipt) - all of them has a sending time between 9 and 9:30 AM by FEDEX
Mine went around 11:30 by USPS on July 2nd - so i have to wait for at least 2weeks. 1 hr late means 1 week delay !!
Kidding - what time yours hit the USCIS building ?
I also just got off the phone with USCIS, I am July 2nd filer with no receipts yet. The nice lady at USCIS customer service told me that due the increase in the in-flux of applications, it is taking USCIS longer to generate the receipt notices. She told me to call them back after 2 weeks.

First of all congratulations on arriving at a mile stone. But obviously it is not end of the journey.
It is also not a time to say "thanks and good bye" to IV. Consider the fact that IV has done a lot for us, at least by making Congress aware of our plight and giving the anti immigrationist some run for their money and at times making their heartbit to skip. It is a different matter whether we got the law passed to address our problem, we may not have that much power; a simple fact is that we do not have voting power and Indian-American or Chinese-American community is not 100% behind us.
But in times like this at least members like you should not leave IV. Then those who have made the dates temporarily current to divide us have just achieved their goals. Anti immigrationist and the writers of the senate amnesty for illegal aliens bill would smile after reading your post. In fact you should announce a one time donation to IV to celebrate your milestone and pledge your continuing support to IV.
