Understand the frustration. There is no FIFO concept in immigration in the US. If you have been here for 8 years,10 years or 15 years, u may not have got a GC but chances are that there are large number of immigrants with less than a year in the US, close to getting GC. Nothing is fair in love,war and GC. :cool:

In case u r GC got approved while u r PD was current then, sorry to say as for as my knwoledge goes, you may not have much option other than bringing u r spouse on F1/L1/H1.

Thanks friend. I do hope your prayers work for me. But I still find it strange that if someone has a pending I-485 through consular processing route, then he/she can't get a visitor visa no matter what? What if it is a medical crisis? Family reunion issues? This sure sucks. I will check with some lawyer on this.
And lastly what you detect as arrogance is my plain talking style. Did I make personal attack on anyone? no, right? Life is like a game of chess. Make the move which makes the best sense at any stage. What is the point in thinking about past moves?

We can demand a purple card for any techworker who had worked and paid taxes and contributed to Social Security and medicare for three continuous years. This card should allow free travel and work permit for spouse. There is no law that states USCIS should not consider country quotas during the last quarter. As per AC21 law USCIS should relax the quotas if the numbers are getting wasted (not already assigned to ROW). If USCIS works efficiently and assigns the visa numbers to EB3 ROW - which is retrogressed - before the end of third quarter, they don't need to relax country quotas in the fourth quarter.
In a way USCIS inefficiency is helping applicants from retrogressed countries get GCs faster (4th quarter relaxation) :).

I have one question on this for some reason if EB-2 Perm is not approved then can we still reatain the EB-3 priority date?? and the EB-3 status.??? I have a masters and 5 years of experience and same situation almost like yours.

This will move the dates at the most by a month or two and this will continue for ever until a new legislation is passed, that is why DC rally is all the more important and everyone should focus on that to bring in a change.

Total GC available = 140000
7% country limit = 9800
split for EB3 = 3266
spread for each qtr = 816

We live in NJ and my husband was not ready to take a day off initially, I was going to come with friends and now after bugging him for days together I finally showed him this message about people flying in from CA and well he is motivated to come, he plans to work remotely on the 17th the lobby day, we are bringing some friends visiting from India too;)

I have had 1 friend go through this. In his case he decided to go through the "India Doctors Association" and they refered him to this OBGYN who helped him as community service. She didnt charge anything for her own fees but he had to pay the clinic for tests. For hospital he just put his hands up and didnt pay a penny - it ofcourse spoiled his credit but he didnt care as the amount was so unrealistically high for him (wife had c section so it costs like 40-50k).

I know many Indian students in my uni who have cheated and plagiarized and somehow graduated and then gone to these fraud consultants who applied for their h1-b.
Last year I knew at least few Desi masters students who were caught for plagiarism and suspended, but those guys/girls went to a desi fraud consultant who applied for their h1-b based on their bachelors while they were doing there their masters (they had no job, nothing) and guess what?.. they got it!
There are not many desi students at my uni, I have heard these things are very common and happen at a large scale at bigger schools. A lot them of don�t bother to really study because they know would somehow find a job and visa through a bodyshop consultant after they graduate. If these students could do a job, I think anyone in the world could do what they are doing,. no talent or skill is required!
These bodyshops consultant are just bad for everyone- for deserving students, schools and industries.
So I think bodyshops consultant should not be allowed to apply for h1-b at least.

Their way of getting here may be illegal but when the amnesty is passed every so many years and they are allowed to just adjust their status with no questions asked, they are getting their GC as legally as it can get. They also get their GC only after it's legal to do so. They don't go and print one. They get it legally.
Again, it's the system/law that let's them do that. It's perfectly legal but they are cutting in line and that's where the problem is.
we complain about illegals because their very presence here without papers is ILLEGAL. what part of ILLEGAL do you not understand?
as far as I can tell, gmatch is not doing anything ILLEGAL. as for the practice being FAIR or NOT, that is a separate discussion.
