They can waste numbers and come up with excuses. But because of criticism from Ombudsman, Congress, etc it looks like they are trying to shape up. They can adjudicate 30 k petitions are more in 2 months if they are committed to. We could get an idea, if there is a deluge of approvals in the first half of August.
Do you guys remember how many visas USCIS processed within the Last few days of June 2007 ( I remember it was around 20k) just to make sure they exhaust the Visa numbers and rollback the Visa Bulletin?
If it's possible for them to complete as many applications within a short span of time,it means they are capable of processing the applications faster...
Now due to more hiring they might process all the available visas by the end of the year.
Not that I'm having hopes of me getting 485 approved based on my PD, but just to put things in perspective....
We'll see once we hit Aug 1st......

I'm not disputing what channel 4 reported, it's overwhelming for the govt to handle millions of IDP's and terrorists mixed up in 1 big bowl of soup. In any war situation there will always be cases of misconduct as it has happened in Iraq, Kashmir, Afghanistan etc.

That said. We cant stop the outsourcing and dumping. Today is biilions from India and china and tomorrow rest of billions from rest of world (like Africa and rest).
If you dont have any proper counter argument, dont post. Period, dont stoop to personal attack.(race,caste,place and commutiy and alma mater).

He says his living standard has gone down because of L1s and H1bs and herds people coming from india, Dude you need to understand that this recession has not been caused by H1b and L1s or other IT workers coming to US, its because of the real estate boom and foolishness of american people who believed that real estate prices will keep on rising to INFINITY.. i don't have to explain how this recession started i hope majority of the people knows about it.. so stop blaming IT workforce for your living standard.. another example.. just seen what happened to GM and chrysler.. they failed to understand the market for small cars and fuel efficient cars.. instead they produced gas guzzlers like hummers.. so do you think they have the brightest minds. We are in this deep shit because of the situations created by americans for themselves and now they want to blame it on legal immigrants for there wrong decisions..
I believe in destiny or lucky whatever they call it.. its not always that brightest get their GC. I wished i was that bright and intelligent person to predict July 07 fiasco but unfortunately i quit my company in Mar 07.. and i know some people who used subsititued labor in July 07 have their EADs with them. Don't think just by getting a GC or citizenship will certify that your the brightest of all still waiting in the GC queue. I am not sure how many people believe in luck... but i do. I don't matter how bright you are and how hard you work you need some luck also..

In my opinion MMS may be a nice person and may be a good economist, but it wasn't him who was running the govt. and it will not be him if he comes back again. He also headed one of the most corrupt & criminal cabinets in the history of India. People like Taslimuddin, Shibu Soren , Jagdish Tytler, Lalu had several criminal cases against them. On the contary you may not personally Like LK Advani, It's not just him who's going to rule the country if he comes to power. It'll be the whole cabinet, most what was during Vajpayee govt. which was much cleaner & much more agressive on developmental issues, they worked on certain agendas, lot of places where you see growth, were actually the good work done by the NDA govt. You may praise Laloo for all the Railway turn around, but the reality is the foundation was layed by then Railway Minister "Nitish Kumar", AI/AI became profitable under "Rajiv Pratap Rudy" . There were people like "Suresh Prabhu", "Yashwant Sinha", "Arun Shourie", all of them did tremendous Jobs in their cabinet.

I think conventional war was ended. But the mistrust is still there. New organization and another set of gurilla warfare will be start very soon. Many LTTE still in Sri Lanka. They may regroup after some time. The refuge camp will be breading ground. If need peace, settle these refugees to good housing, education and jobs. If Sri Lanka thinks the war is over with LTTE, and rule with same manner like before, no peace at sight. May be the unrest will be not in the north, may be in south.
For long lasting peace, cosider all minority with equal rights, like in India. Minority get more rights, because of vote bank.
I think SL government will emphasize on providing jobs etc to tamilians to resolve the issue in right way. They won the war part 1 now most critical is part 2...

If someone dies at ur home, to get the govt doctor come and give you clearance to take the body to burial it takes thousands of rupees. Police need no less either. Else your loved one will be waiting for those ***. If you have to claim ur loved ones insurance to take care of expenses during his death, offices play u around... They just want more money!!
I see people changing faith to get free money... its not abt faith but division in our own people. We like foreign cars, foreign made netas, foreign faiths... foreign jobs... oh #!?***

I applied for EAD paying old fees in Jul 2007, and I renewed with new fees this year in Jun 2008, would like know if I need to pay renewal fees again when I renew my EAD in Jun 2009.

1] To date there are 60K EB2I and another 60K EB3I I-485 applictaions pending.
2] 3.2K visas were available for EB2I for FY2009.
Assuming 3.2K visas are available every year from now on, it will take 60/3.2=18.75 years for all EB2I applicants upto today to be granted GC.

2) Have you visited capitol hill and tried to understand what the congress thinks about EB legislation? I did - during the IV advocacy event last year with hundreds of eb2 and eb3 members.
3) How many members here have you actually worked worked with? Because the people I know here who actually do the grass root work with me (both eb2 and eb3) do not care about theb category they belong to.

Without reform in the next few months.....dates for EB3 ROW would also start moving backwards....
