But be careful to be discreet about the job change, because by any chance if your current employer revokes the I140, before your extension approval, you will be in trouble. (Because the basis for approval of beyond 7nth year extension is your approved I-140.)

Hmm, somebody can confirm this. I am in Houston, Texas
While I e-filed my EAD renewal, everything was super-duper and the pdf files indicate that it was sent to Texas Service Center (pending I-485 is in TSC and initial EADs/APs were received from TSC). I marked in my Application that My I-485 was Emplyment Based.
I went and followed the same steps for my wife's EAD renewal(She already received EAD/AP initially in October 2007, from the TSC), who is my "dependant", but marked hers as family based I-485. I think it is because of this anamoly that, the supporting documents is being directed to National Benefits Center.
Has anybody had a similar experience? Please share
I am planning to call USCIS tomorrow. I will update you all in the details.

--This should not be a problem, since the H1-B is a dual-intent visa
2. Is H1-B extension based on I-140 possible when not in US?
--Yes. Moreover, if you are in India for a year or more, your 6-year clock starts again.

We filed our 485 on July 2nd 2007 at Nebraska office � EB3 � July 7, 2001
- The case was shifted to Texas and we received notices from Texas office with receipt date of August 27.
- Our date is now current however processing at Texas is still stuck at June 27, 2007.
- Does this mean our RD is now 08/27/07 even though it was recd. at Nebraska on 07/02/07??
Check your I-797 - receipt notice for your I-485. In that there is a received date. That is your RD. There is another field, notice date or ND that might change depending on the transfer. If the RD is different from July 2nd, you can talk to the customer service and try to get it corrected.
BTW, though they have to process in the order of RD, I don't think they are following it. From reading here and other forums, I think they are following the ND.

Yeah was a real eye opener, this one. Makes u wonder sometimes, whether we are really welcome in this country or not. More importantly, will we ever be REALLY accepted as part of the "American culture". These organizations are open about their "feelings" toward immigrants. The scanned the bar code on the fingerprinting notice and asked to verify the A#, dob etc. that popped up on the computer screen. I think the receipt number was there too.
Does any one remember if at the time of finger printing for 485, did they enter the Receipt Number, A# or both in their computer.
I am have some issues with multiple A#s and I need this information.
Please reply only if you are sure.

Hello all,
1. Is it Ok to go a few days early to Dallas ASC for finger printing ? I won't be in town on the scheduled FP date and I am reluctant to reschedule.
2. Is there a time of day at Dallas ASC that is not so crowded, so that the ASC may not mind Walk ins ?
