Sri,
You are putting in great efforts. Thank you very much for the same. Highly appreciated.
Unless the baby cries and asks for food, mother does not feed the baby. Similarly congress will provide relief only if we ask for it.
Can somebody please send me the addresses for sending regular mail. I have 30 posters almost ready,. I am checking. I have those 6-7 addresses (Zoe, Director, John, department, etc) but I need many more.
I want to do this 1st thing MOnday morning. ..
Thanks,
Sri.

Thanks pappu for the updates!
During the discussions on 1485 filing provisions we there were questions related to EB2, EB3 backlog numbers post 2007 july + Based on the recent information we got on pending numbers + our discussion on if EB2 will get current this year helps us understand how the last quarter will behave. This analysis is not official and is our own interpretation based on information we know. We do not wish to seek out specific information on visa bulletins. It has not been IV policy. VBkris has been involved with IV statistical analysis of data and has been in meetings with officials. He has come up with an explanation to this news and how it may play out for the last quarter. His interpretation makes sense to me and I have asked him to post on the forum.

Friends even I believe that looks like we will hit the Jul - Aug 2007 mark this year for EB2 things seem to be adding up well.
If we got 12K from EB1 and EB5 for the first 6 months then we should expect another 12K and even EB2 ROW usage is significantly down.
@vdlrao I agree with your analysis on the May bulletin seems to be spot on.
Yes.. Good points.
Lets please limit the discussion on any thread to the main topic and not deviate into contributions, donor kind of topics. Please create a new thread if needed.

I would not trust the lawyers in any of this, because their analysis will be superficial and not even close compared to what we see here. We have around 4-5 different folks here doing some really good sound analysis, so unless it's a lawyer known to historically make accurate predictions, I wouldn't care less about their say.
Lawyer is sharing info that some of their client have got fee invoice from NVC. I have done family based application through NVC for my parents and I know you get fees invoice almost 4 months prior to your GC interview date. So lawyer is thinking that NVC is thinking to go upto Nov 2007 in case if CIS fails to act on enough cases in last months.

I'm also in a similar situation...
Our priority date is April 2006 and we'd received a RFE in 2009 which we'd responded in June 2009, however, still no update on our case status.
I'd opened a SR, send an email to Nebraska service center and also approached my local senator/congressman, but no update as of yet and just the standard reply.
What to do to expediate? We've been current for more than a month now! :(
thank you!

USCIS is not prepared for anything. if this works then great. if not i tried didn't work out.... :)
My attorney told me that there are several July 2 cases they have not heard back about, although they got receipts for July 19 and later cases long time ago. They told that they are making a formal enquiry. How do they do that I don't know.
I just hope that it is just a normal RIRO, not a lost bundle of applications which was originally marked for rejection/return.

RNC Bows to Bush, Kills Immigration Resolution
By John Gizzi
Human Events Online, January 22, 2006
. . .
Given the growing chasm between the Administration and GOP grass-roots activists on the issue of illegal immigration, the Pullen measure could well have paved the way for the most incendiary debate at an RNC meeting since the partys ruling members eight years ago voted down a measure to deny funding to candidates opposed to a ban on partial birth abortion.

Similarly, every call for immigration reform is answered with lusty shouts of racism by the self-styled champions of immigrant rights.
You want to start protecting our borders? Youre a racist. You think illegal aliens are responsible for a disproportionate share of crime, disease, poverty and social disintegration? Youre a racist. You believe America has a national language, and it isnt Spanish? Youre a xenophobic, hate-monger (even if youre an immigrant or the grandchild of immigrants).

Illegal immigration is a hot-button issue these days, and calls for a border fence spark fierce support among some segments of society.
That support is misplaced; undocumented workers who risk death to cross the border will not be deterred by a wall.

The House's approval of the Sensenbrenner immigration reform bill in mid-December was a clear signal that the most virulent restrictionists were in control of the immigration policy debate.
Sponsored by Rep. James Sensenbrenner (R-WI), chair of the House Judiciary Committee, the Border Protection, Anti-Terrorism, and Illegal Control Act calls for the extension of a fence along a third of the 2,000 mile U.S.-Mexico border, involves local law enforcement and other government officials in immigration enforcement, and denies due-process of law for immigrants. The bill sparked a spate of international criticism of rising anti-immigrant sentiment in the United States , and raised alarm among immigrant communities and their advocates.

Just talked to a recruiter from a software giant.
She specifically wanted to know if I was on EAD and if yes, unfortunately they cannot hire EADs during the fourth quarter (now) due to hiring budget limitations that are typical during the fourth quarter.
Q: Why does budget come in to picture here?
A: Because policy requires the legal dept to be consulted for visa holders and EADs which means additional hiring costs plus time.
But she said once the fourth quarter passes, EAD hiring is not a problem.
What the employers are doing seems illegal. Govt issues us this card for a lot of money, and now we can't use it for work?

ND - 8/4/2007
Opened SR on 8/3 and InfoPass appointment on 8/9 (useless)
Received SR response on 8/11 saying the application is in review.
Seems like SR works!!! Finally something that works!!!
My only confusion now is my application status - "On August 13, 2010, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later."
I do not know what ADIT means? Did anyone get similar response? What are the next steps from here in your experience? Thank you for the help in advance.

I agree to what you say. The intend of this thred is not to support/oppose the outsourcing/offshoring the jobs. The intent of this thred is the fradulent use of L1s by the offshoring companies.
If these companies play as per law then there is no issue. Everything is OK in moderation even outsourcing or offshoring. However these companies does fraudulent use of the L1s. They send endless people in L1s. Even if the person does not have hire/fire authority he/she is sent as L1A. General java/Oracle/.net developers are sent in L1A or L1B.
These people with L1s are placed at client location and they work under supervision of client manager. False names are shown in the chart under these L1As benefeciary when they are applied for renewals.
These things should be reported and should not be supported.
Falsifying information is not right. If you have credible information and knowledge - write about this in detail. Let people know, what's going on.

Please do not feel violated by what Smitha mentioned. If we claim that we follow Gandhi's path, than we must act on it. Smitha has her own way of thinking and even though we disagree, kindly respect her point of view. She has suffered as much as any of us has suffered in past days/months/years.
Smitha, I would like to remind you about an incident from India's freedom struggle. When M. K. Gandhi requested the nation to start burning the cloths that were made in Great Britain, most of the people felt that it was inappropriate. What can you achieve by burning your own cloths? But later on an entire nation saw the power behind civil disobedience. Even the people who were worst affected by Swadesi Movement (the cloth mill workers of Britain: who lost their jobs-bread-butter because of less demand) realized that this was done to support a just cause.
I would like to quote a poem by C. Rajagopalachari:
Victory is certain, O Mind!!
Away with false fear.
Devotion bears its fruit.
Shoulders we have, Broad and strong, And intelligence.
We can gather what we work for.
Unalterable law protects Our efforts unflagging.
Away then with fear and despondency!
So I urge you to be away then with false fear and despondency. Sending flowers is humane and certainly not illegal.

Can someone please post the steps to open an SR and get an Infopass? I may have a biometrics appointment coming up soon. Can they help with application status questions?

I am sure they are PDs ..see sudden spike in mar 2005. If it was ND or RD you would see that spike in Jul - sep 2007
they are RD's not PD's
IF they were PD's we shouldnot be seeing anything after Jul 2007 [as those were the farthest PD's ever reached].

I understand your point of view, I used to work in solar energy. When i completed my post graduation most of the jobs required a USC (this was 10 yrs ago). I had to switch to software related jobs.
For me the number one priority is how Obama will handle the Skilled immigration issues. will he guided by Sen Dick Durbin, who at the moment seems to be his policy wonk. That will be a disaster for us. They have no intension of supporting skilled immigrants. We will will have to make some serious decisions if he is elected.
How many of us want to continue to stay in limbo...i dont.
