Download isn't too bad. It took about an hour - hour 1/2 to download. Both accounts I have for Mac Beta haven't received a key. Got mine from another source.

If the Microcell drew enough power for me to be concerned about it I'd bitch about the power consumption. But with a power bill that's about $30/mo. I don't care.

I am tempted to buy one for this reason. I was able to look at one in a store earlier today and wow, its ugly.. I really prefer the look of the DSi a lot more, the 3DS just looks horrible compared to the DSi.
The 3D aspect really means nothing to me as I cannot see anything in 3D (glasses based or this I assume) because of my vision issues. The idea of having better graphics compels me, however I'm not sure if I will get one just yet.
The screens are more vibrant on top of that.
The 3D is an option. The better graphics alone is worth it - though I'm hoping it's not going to be all just "updated" N64 games.
If you are not using the 3D - I'd wait until the price drops and maybe a slimmer version is available...

Once I have a decent method of getting my movies from my computer to my TV (i.e. iTV), and iTunes has more selection, I plan on never buying another DVD again. I'm in the minority here I'm sure, but for how long? How long before digital distribution is the method of choice for your average Joe?
I agree, except for one little thing===> HD Content distribution. No real solution for that one yet. You can't very easily d/l a 25GB HD movie. Even compressed, it's a massive freakin' file. I don't think there's a comsumer level internet connection that could support such content offerings.
So where does that leave us? We'll be able to d/l SD movies & TV. Brick and Mortar retailers can continue to sell hard copies with special features and HD DVD/Blu-Ray discs as well. Any retailer worth their weight in liquid soap will markup premium content and delivery formats, and everything will work out fine, until the next big change or trend.

I grew up on a pc and now I choose Mac because it's so much better in my opinion. Personally I'm not liberal and I'm not super conservative either. I odiously care about my appearance, and I'm not a vegetarian. I do like the Beatles though wherever that fits in. So I'm not anywhere near this statistic. Windows Is more complicated, but it would be fine if it wasn't slow, get viruses all the time, and when u click an app it doesn't take ten min to pop up (not to mention u get so frustrated u click it several time and then like 7 windows pop up). Personally this never happens to my Mac iknow my way a round both os's but I also own most apple products. I take care of the pc sitting in the basement my dad uses it for email when he is not on the iPad, so it doesn't get that much use but it slows down fast so we clean it out every year ( back what we need up and then wipe the thing). The pc is cheeper that is why most of the world uses them, there is a thiving computer repair business for a reason (not many for Mac). But whatever floats your boat I guess lol

And once info is added into the registry, it can (usually) be removed but the registry cannot be compacted. Bloat creeps in and reinstalling is inevitable, if performance is a concern. Even with Win7, which has bugs that SP1 hasn't fixed either...
OS X has a couple of foibles, but compared to Windows "it just works" is not an inaccurate statement and, quite frankly, is vastly superior to Windows.

We're not talking about racism coming from the government, which is predominantly white in the US. This is absolutely pointless and I'm sick of hearing about it. I wouldn't be surprised if it was Sony who started the campaign. Think about it. If you didn't like the X Factor song, you wouldn't buy it. But now there is this silly campaign to buy the RATM song for all the people who hate the X Factor song. Sony wins in either case.
And the reason the X Factor song is usually number one is because, well, the X Factor is popular.

I think it's just that people are fed up of X Factor dominating the charts year after year, and they want to see something new. The actual iPhone 5 will have much more features. Apple always does this, because at the end of the day they're a business and they will add features which they omitted from iPhone 4. To get everyone to upgrade.

Are your APN entries correct, or your carrier file installed?
Settings > General > About - what is the value for "Carrier"?
Might be worth a reset of your network settings.
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
This will also wipe all stored WiFi entries and their passwords and reboot the phone.

If you need any kind of savvy to effectively and productively use an operating system, the operating system is poorly designed.
Sorry, guys. New rules for the post-PC era. Complexity is OUT. Get with the game. Forget conventional IT logic. It no longer applies.
Anyone who chooses the simplest operating system (like OS X and iOS, obviously) to accomplish the same tasks *is* savvy.

How the hell did you guys elect that fool? I'm even more concerned for you Canadians now. I got no good answer for you Lee, I didn't vote for that party. Maybe the minority position of the last two conservative government gave them a softer image than before, maybe it was due to the lack of a strong Liberal leadership, maybe people were tired of going to the polls and wanted a 4 year break... It's just a glorified web slate and note taker. By no means bad but I don't see any students where I work, or staff for that matter, rushing to get one. We may buy one or two for R&D.
I completely agree. It's probably being aimed at the computing illiterate or perhaps commuters but in its current form with an iPhone OS, it's just not powerful or versatile enough for the vast majority of students.

I'm sure this is the first of many companies to ignore the massive PowerPC userbase out there. I wish there was something like a reverse-rosetta.
So much for the age-old tradition of Macs having a much longer useful service life than a Windows PC, now a 2-month old PowerMac is already becoming obsolete.
I wouldn't worry too much just yet. As I said above, just because Adobe has decided to proceed in this manner does not mean everyone else will too. I'm betting that PPC machines will still be "safe" for a few more years in this respect. And plus, for many "non-Pro" users like myself, I don't need to run the latest version of certain software, so even if the newest versions are Intel only, this won't affect me much. My Office v.X will still run fine, just as my Photoshop Elements 3, iLife 06 and Toast 7 will. They meet my needs so I don't feel a need to upgrade them at this point in time even if new versions come out (UB or not). :cool:
