I was just wondering if anybody knows about Science & Technology Related VISA Issuance Delay at Indian consulates and embassy. Is it a new thing introdcuced recently? Now they require you to fill up a 6-pages long questionnaire and wait 2-3 weeks delay. Anybody on h1-B has gone through this?

I was reading Murthy's FAQ on AC21 she did in 2002. Read Question 6 carefully. Revoking I140 was always an issue, may be never surfaced!

tracker site data is fake....... tracker site has employees sitting in India...... those employees create fake ids and fake profiles....... then they write post using those fake ids to create an impression that there are lot of people posting on the tracker site...... if you look at title of most threads...... they are framed in the manner that will be inviting most others to write on the thread.......... every few days these employees sitting in India..... using a fake profile ........ start a new thread with a title something like .... 'i got it i got it ' or ' i am green' or something similar..... and using other fake ids the same bunch of employees ask fake questions from op..... who is also a fake handle...... so the data there is totally fake..... that data represents the need of the tracker site to make people to come to their site...... that data does not represent the sample data...... not even close.....

OH law website says that the bill will be introduced around 10.15 today morning.

Can some one please clarify what this case number is. Do we get the case number when we apply for visa, or this is just the approval notice number.
I am going for my interview on 23rd January to Mumbai. I was just trying to find out whether I can call KCC before leaving US to find out if my approval notice is in the PIMS system or not.

That's good news APB.
I guess it may either be the SR that I opened for my wife or the letter I wrote to Napolitano...my wife got a call from a CSR from DC and she told that her case is pending because of the Biometrics, she said she is issuing new biometrics...the speaker phone was on...and I interjected...how come I got approved w/o the Biometrics...she was clueless...I told her how many times can Biometrics notice be issued...my attorney called TSC on 10th of Sept and that time a notice was issued which we never received and then again two weeks later someone else issued another notice.....then someone else told that Biom is fine it just needs uploading and it has been two weeks since then the only thing that is happening is the Visas getting used up .....I said what's the point of FP/Biom if visas are no longer available which surely will be the case in 3 weeks....
In any case didn't expect a phone call from them so was surprised.

I was looking at all your posts and i can tell you how hard your trying to get your Wife's GC..Good Job Dude keep it up..i feel like you are fighting with USCIS to get GC...I am in a similar situtaion like you do but not same..i think my case has not been approved because of my wife's FP's was not able to read by FBI (she gave FP's 3 time in May) and never sent to USCIS by FBI..can you tell me how to escalate this issue to Napolitano or any other USCIS officals...:mad:

It's your company's responsibility to make you aware about your dependent's status too.I worked for a small desi company for sometime and they lied that My wife doesn't need H4 extension because she is dependent on me.Fortunately I came out of that company.
javadeveloper - it is your company's responsibility (more likely their immigration attorney)to keep you informed of YOUR status, but it is YOUR responsibility for your dependants. Sure, the smart attorney is going to want to take care of all of the paperwork at once when filling for extensions etc as it's less hassle for them - but that doesn't absolve you from that responsibility.
Had it happen to a friend - his wife and kids had to leave the country, get new visas and H4's and were away for 7 months. Missed nearly a year of school simply because his new company weren't informed of tehm when he swicthed jobs

Any idea when the new proposals will be implemented if they become law :confused: Do we have to wait until Oct for these new proposals to take effect.

Good question. The bill is expected to be on the floor of the Senate and House for debate in Feb-06. Learning from S1932, it is my guess that the soonest bill could be law is 2-3 months. So we may be looking at something like April/May-06. But nothing is for sure at this time. It is possible that the debate may be dragged on till third quarter of 2006. We should start the activity to communicate with the law makers right now and continue to convey the right message if we want anything good to come out of the new bill.

I had a reqruiter discussing a great job opportunity and finally when it came to the status thing, it was my mistake, i said "I have EAD". She said "That's fine" and never got back to me, she said she will be in touch via email but never did that.
So this is a pattern now.
Reqruiters and HR know they can say "Sorry we do not sponser visas" so they say it without any issue but not EAD.
I am just baffled as to why are some people so fussy about EAD. Isn't EAD holders a piece of cake for the company? People with skills and eligible to work for any employer????
I am sure the hiring managers would love to bring good people on board. But unfortunately, these reqruiters and HR are creating the mess.
Looks like for reqruiters, they think they can just apply the filter to lessen their burden on collecting resumes.
The problem here is, she may not have responded back for some other reason. We cannot assume the EAD is always the reason. We cannot know unless they explicity say so, as I experienced yesterday.
My wife had her resume on monster under the GC cateogry (they do not have an EAD category as far as I know). She was interviewed and selected and when submitting her I-9, she put in her EAD details and attached a copy. No one raised a hoot at any point.
There are only some sections rejecting EADs either because of ignorance or due to the additional work required in screening EAD candidates as the recruiter explained to me.
It may also be a good idea for people who recently had success with EADs to post their cases here or people will begin to get anxious about their work status as no one really knows how long they will be stuck with EADs.

If I am not wrong, buffering wud be to take in new 485 applications, process them and keep them ready.
In that context, most of the applications till 07/07 have been preadjudicated, new buffer wud require dates to be pushed to 07/07 or later.
I would think they move to 07/07 first to see any missing demand to appear in the next month or two and then move significantly, if needed, in the final quarter!

What should be the answer to this question on I-485 part 2- out of following 2 options for my dependents ? to me it seems #b is the right answer for my family members 485 and #a for me. BUt some how teh legal guys are changing this from #b to #a for my dependents!!

Not a lawyer, obviously :) , but the first line on I-9 about discrimination covers "hiring, discharging, or recruiting or referring... It is illegal to discriminate against work eligible individuals."
Yes, "Interviewing" is not written there. And we all know that "Recruiting" or "Hiring" is not equivalent of "interviewing"

Not been a close tracker all these years, but it all changed at the beginning of October ;)
But, both my wife and I received CPO e-mails this morning. No welcome e-mails.
These are some important events in my journey -
First H1-B - October 2004 (Company X)
Labor (regular) filed on Jan 20th, 2005 (EB2)
I-140 filed in August 2006 (Company X)
