From the bottom of your heart can you tell the forum that there was no discrimination against Tamils in Sri Lanka after its independence from Great Britain.
War is in the northern and eastern provinces. Sinhala and Muslims were driven out of this area by the LTTE. Tamils live all over the country. Tamils lead regular life in other areas of the country that's not succumbed to the war, this includes the capital, colombo. They conduct business, attend universities/schools, they lead a regular life just like any other sinhala or muslims. Tamils lead prosperous lives in other parts than the north and east. The reason they can't live in the north or east is due to their own LTTE, the group that was supposed to liberate tamils.
If there's ethnic cleansing or genocide against tamils, Sinhala and muslim people should be killing tamils all over the country. This is not case in Sri Lanka. I have tamil friends and classmates, we went to school together. How come there are tamil ministers in the parliament. Parliment members Lakshman Kadirgamar and Jeyaraj Fernandopulle both tamils and were killed by the LTTE not the gov. How can this be ethnic cleansing?

I don't think there is much I disagree with you. You are right about most things. Especiallly, that it is not an exact science. A lot depends upon how many applicants there are, and how many numbers are increased, and how much the country limits are increased by.
I also don't think that the country limits will go away totally. They will probably just increase them. But you never know. Espeically, because at some point, they will go to the point system, and then who knows whats going to happen to us.
Also, its not that I am concerned about what is GOOD JUST FOR ME. (BTW, its not just me, its about a third of IV) I am more worried about what is bad for me.

Tamils in the US too doesn't ask a part of US armed with weapons.
SL Tamils in Sri Lanka is fighting for their homeland which was unjust fully integrated by the Europeans/British with the Sinhalese majority south, paving way the Sinhalese to discriminate the Tamils in their homeland. SL Tamils are fighting for their homeland and not someone else land.

Do some research on Nuclear deal and see what it will bring to India in the next couple of decades. And tell me what Mr.Advani brought us when they were in power.
If congress would have done it's job properly 60 years back, there was no need of nuclear deal now. The comment you made makes it pretty sure that congress was a failure since last 6 decades. The benefits of current nuclear deal will be in next 2 decades. So what poor people of India eat in next two decades? Will you tell them that don't worry...hang on for next 20 years. Also do you know the case of Enron and how politicians of all colors made fool of people.

They are implying that those who are currently working for body shops are to find an employer that would offer their definition of employer-employee relationship. But you are still with the body shop, then your extnesion will be denied!

This is from personal experience. I went through the canadian PR also and now have lost it. I have some friends in Canada and India who had to move because of failure to file for GC before 6yr H1. My view of Canada and other feedback is
It is not a first world country as they want you to believe.
The cost of living is very high though the salary is very low.
Cost of goods is almost the same or most of the time higher than in US.
Medical is by state (where applicable) but doctors are not good and the wait time is large.
Taxes are very very high.
I can go on and onnnn...
My advice which will save you almost 3k-6k is dont do it if you are waiting for GC. Else you can do it at a short notice. The other options are, if you dont like 5year wait time from India, is to come back in H1 to the US and again reapply. At least this way you know how your GC turned out.

ratturani, i am seeing an increasing number of posts that state the facts as clearly as you have stated... thats great... now i think somewhere some day, someone will float a good idea of motivating employers such as MS, Intel, BAC etc to fight for us instead of trying to motivate only the congress... see, we dont have too much of power in congress... :-(

From the day I came to this country , I have spent around $12,000 on immigration including H1-Bs, filing GC, APs, EADs extra. Not to mention the traveling for visa stamps and whole other shit load of expenses. I guess most of people who paid for filing GC did spent same amount of money.
Hell ya, Some one got to be benefiting from my $12000.
I thought we're not supposed to pay for H1 and GC. Correct me if I'm wrong? I guess we can only pay for the visa appointment fee.
