Hopefully from October 2010 the date stay as it is. Did you checked the cut off data it does show 0 requirement prior to 2006.

I read from a different post that you can file for AOS if you are out of status for less than 180 days. there is a section 245(k) which allows you to do this. I don't know the accuracy of this info.

Getting an H1B visa seems to be the be all and end all solution to come as a permananent resident of this country. While H1B visa is a non-immigrant visa, Greencard is the immigrant visa.
We want this article to solely focus on Greencards. The title can be like --"In Search of the Green Card". The article can be such that general public in India is educated and made aware of the struggles to achieve the coveted GC.
Make sure to write it as if you are a representative (member) of Immigration Voice and mention ImmigrationVoice name a few times in the article. Write aboout what immigration voice is doing to solve this problem and how this grassroots movement has grown nationwide and will enable a change in the broken immigrationsystem for high-skilled immigrants.

As per my understanding there is nothing much USCIS can do in terms of creating laws since that is what only Congress can do. Only thing that CIS can do is efficiently use the 140K visa numbers allocated. So the only issue for backlogged folks is how CIS uses the spill over numbers. Till 2007 these visa numbers went to EB3 but we still see that Eb3 is struck in 2001 levels. Where as just one year of giving it to EB2 moved them to 2006 and then brought back to 2004 levels. I feel the only help of EB3 is recapture of visa # or removal of country limits anything else will fall short of any help needed.

You most probably have half the education that I have, your salary is most likely half that of mine, and your moral standard is probably half that of mine. If I start ridiculing you more, you will suffer sleepless nights. So I won't do it (after this post, I mean).
You don't post bullshit in a public forum, just because you can't see the people you are talking to, infront of you. Would you dare call the original poster 'thief' if he is standing infront of you? Would you call him that, if he is a friend of your roommate and your roommate brings him over to your house? The internet must be a new technology for you. Please learn how to use it to spread some love.
Isnt the goal of Education to make a person a better person, morally and otherwise? Is this what your education got you to? All of your Education (I am assuming you have four MS degrees, two PHd, as you have twice mine, and about 300K salary) is a total waste, if you stick up your head to support someone who does shop-lifting and have no qualms about it ( i have definitely not seen any statement to that effect from the OP, just seeking "immigration" advise). I can only think of a myriad number of reasons why you want to support this guy..maybe you yourself might have sticky hands my friend? I have been thinking for a long time to own a gun but due to my H-1B status could'nt own one. My I-140 was approved last year and now I am working on EAD.
I am wondering if anybody else in a similar situation purchased a gun; I mean after he/she started working using EAD. I tried to research the issue but the law is not clear on the subject.
I think this is a wrong forum . you might want to get in touch with NRA (most of the members of NRA are very conservative ) .... They might help you or make you a plaintiff in a lawsuit.. Supreme court may very well favor you given their recent second amendment rulings :)

it might seem like eb2 has moved.. and it has from last month...but this is where we were at in april 2006 (may2006 bulletin -1st jan 2003) before the dates stagnated for a cupl of months, became unavailable and finally moved backwards in october.
so basically no movement for 7 months.

Definitely not at the place where I am working.
The place where I work, people eat burgers in the meetings and we have a very small kitchen in our floor and there is no Cafetaria as such. If I had to put up with the burger smell, I expect my co-worker to put up with my Indian food smell too...

Civil infractions are leinennt, but you are now all set for rest of your life to be in public records. Future employers and creditors would see that too when they do background checks. Other than that you got nothing to worry about. Go ahead and continue to plan for your India visit. But may I advise not to indulge into that habit of shoplifting? ... uhmm I know gifts can be very expensive.:cool:
